First of all, crap joke fans, well done. You’ve almost made it through Wednesday: most of the week is now history.
This week, the Crap Joke of the Day™ psychology team has been considering the perennial question: is laughter really the best medicine?
As a dedicated reader of this page, we suspect you intuitively know the answer. You’d be right: laughter reduces pain and discomfort. It reduces blood sugar levels (useful for sweet-toothed people and diabetics). Bosses take note: laughter also improves job performance, creativity and problem solving.
It has psychological benefits, too: a study conducted by the boffins on our customer insight team reported that people regularly exposed to the CJotD experience were 76% happier than those who weren’t.
So ask yourself this: does the person sitting opposite you look depressed? Do they look like they’ve lost their verve for life? Could they do with a crap joke? Of course they could: the medical proof is irrefutable. It only takes an quick email, or link to CJotD’s Facebook page or Twitter feed. Help a friend today.
In line with all this medical insight, today’s crap joke, of course, has a ‘doctor, doctor’ flavour. Remember to laugh: after all, it’s good for you.
I went to the doctor the other day. I said: ‘I’m sick of finishing crosswords so quickly’.
The doctor replied: ‘try not to get two down’.
Another one of those, same time tomorrow.
